How did you get through the quarantine?
Who did you become because of it?
Did you manage to survive it?
Here’s how I see it:
People across the planet, immersed in a new pandemic reality, were confronted with unfamiliar emotions—some even faced a sense of their own insignificance.
Admittedly, this feeling isn’t something most people like, nor are they always ready to acknowledge it, which is why our states of mind shifted daily.
We followed quarantine chronicles, joined challenges and flash mobs, binged on series, drank over Zoom, cuddled our kids and pets, gained weight, went on diets, and feared we might never see food or friends again. We froze in terror for the lives of our loved ones, mourned shattered plans, missed out on trips, grieved over our businesses, buried ourselves in remote work, helped those who were truly struggling, disregarded restrictions, earned a living, and eventually stopped paying attention to the quarantine updates and statistics.
Some, for the first time, began reflecting on their lives, the present, and the future—clinging to the hope that things would someday return to "normal," only to realize that "normal" never really comes back.
Gradually, we began to shape new rules for living in the near future, and the unsettling sense that we were all part of "The Truman Show" started to fade...
We began to return.
To return to the future.
To return to hopes for a better tomorrow, to the sun growing stronger, and to the possibility of brighter days ahead.
